Labour Split

Keep hearing and reading about the possibility of an “SDP style” split if Jeremy Corbyn wins.

Sounds about right.

The SDP formed when the right wing of the Labour Party couldn’t force the party to do what they wanted and weren’t prepared to accept the democratic will of the Labour party membership.

They couldn’t win so they picked up their ball and walked away. It was the right of the party that split and deserted the rest.

So yes it looks like it could happen again.

Seems like they are not prepared to accept Corbyn as a democratically elected leader and could walk again.

Dave Nellist (former Labour MP) was once asked how you became a left winger in the Labour Party, his answer was “Stand still”.

Nothing changes much does it.
